This is a collection of music for folk dancing that has long been out of print. Most of it consists of 78RPM transcriptions. Many of the vinyl recordings are actually transcribed from older 78s. From the soulful Macedonian, happy-happy Croatian, to the furious Russian-Ukranian melodies this music makes wonderful listening, but most importantly it demands to be danced. The 78RPM recordings often have a vigor and life unsurpassed by modern recordings. This is because they could not edit them, and...

Compilation celebrating the 100th anniversary of 'L´Arte dei Rumori', the first artistic manifesto concerning noise music. It was written by Luigi Russolo, an Italian futurist painter and composer, who was interested in classifying all the new sounds that were coming out from the machines at the time. The tracks on this compilation are not about white noise, they cover all spectrum of experimental sounds: music concréte, electro acoustic, free jazz, circuit bending, field recordings, etc....

The duo blends the vibrant sounds of a full-sized concert harp with the sweet sounds of flute to infuse new life into the works of great composers, such as Bach, Handel, Ravel, Pachelbel, Debussy, Bizet, and others...or present their unique stylings to popular, Broadway and Celtic favorites. These are variations on the theme of the Colonel Bogey March. This is the Acadamy Award-winning tune the British soldiers whistled in the movie, Bridge on the River Kwai, and often called "The Bridge on the River Kwai march". Colonel Boogey Breakdown is a bluegrass version reminiscent of Lester Flatt, Earl Scruggs' Foggy Mountain Breakdown. Oy, Colonel Bogey is a klezmer style. Klezmer is sort of a 'Jewish Polka' style: fun and funky.

Etiquette manuals are an important sources of information on ballrooms and social dance during the nineteenth-century. Sherwood's book is an exceptional source for etiquette as it was practiced in the late 1880s. Additionally, of the book's fifty-nine chapters, two are devoted to dancing and balls.

These musicians look to have recorded with tin whistler Myles O'Malley, who cut some discs with a group on the same day, in the same city (NYC), with the same piano player. Off to the Hunt is found in old books and resembles in its first part the common jig Old Man Dillon, which Francis O'Neill named after a fiddle player of his acquaintance. They follow with one of the old favorites, often recorded on old sides. John recorded a fiddle solo...
